Document Description
The Project includes construction, operation, maintenance, and decommissioning of a 300-megawatt alternating current solar photovoltaic energy generation plant, interconnection transmission line, operation and maintenance (O&M) facilities, wells, waterlines, and site access roads. Project activities include mowing, disk and rolling, grading, vegetation removal, trench digging, pile driving road construction, compacting soil, and other activities.
The Project will result in permanent impacts to 1,575 acres of desert tortoise (Gopherus agassizii) habitat resulting in incidental take of individuals of this species, which is designated as a threatened species under the California Endangered Species Act (CESA). This Incidental Take Permit Amendment No. 1 reduces the acreage the project impacts, reduces the required Habitat Management (HM) Lands, reduces the cost estimate for HM Lands, extends the timeline to acquire HM Lands, and incorporates a Memorandum of Understanding (May 12, 2014) authorizing biologist to handle covered species.
