Document Description
The project consists of expansion of the existing Sunday Farmers Market operations to include Saturdays and potentially Fridays in the future with approval of a contract amendment with the operator of the Sunday Farmers Market. The Saturday market is planned as a "flea market"/ swap meet venue, and three minor site improvements will be undertaken: relocation of existing fencing, construction of a restroom, and asphalt paving of an existing paved area. The expanded market will be held every Saturday (except during rainy periods and the County Fair week in September), between 8 AM and 4 PM similar to the existing Sunday Farmers Market. The proposed Market will be located in the same location as the Farmers Market. Approximately 75-85 vendors will be permitted, and the event is expected to attract approximately 850-950 cars with 1,700 to 3,800 visitors throughout the day. An Initial Study/Negative Declaration were prepared for the Sunday Farmers Market; the Negative Declaration was adopted in January 2013 by the 14th DAA Board of Directors. An Addendum to the adopted Negative Declaration did not find new significant impacts or substantially more severe impacts.
