Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Game is executing Streambed Alteration Agreement number 1600-2010-0013-R2, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project applicant, Sacramento Municipal Utility District.
The project proposed to establish a 1,132 acre mitigation bank within Rancho Seco Park. As part of the mitigation bank development, proposed construction activities include wetland restoration, wildlife habitat enhancement, oak tree plantings, fencing, and signage.
Construction of vernal pools and seasonal wetland within the wetland restoration site will consists of excavating shallow to moderate depressions, ~ 6-24 inches deep. Swales proposed for restoration and establishment will be similar to vernal pools and wetlands however they will be designed to convey water.
The project will permanently affect 0.114 acres of jurisdictional agricultural drainage, and three artificially created seasonal wetlands. Temporary effects to ~ 0.144 acres of waters may also result from the proposed restoration activities.
