Document Description
This is a fuels reduction project that will create a fuelbreak with an average width of 40 feet for an approximate seven (7) miles in lenght around the Buzztail Community Services District, located in the foothills northeast of Chico, Ca. Work will entail the cutting, piling, and burning of heavy brush to widen the existing fire lines created during suppression of the 2008 Humboldt Fire. The intent of this project is to reduce hazardous fuels loading by removing brush and down woody material and eliminating rapid burning flashy fuels with the goal of reducing the rate of fire spread, duration, and intensity.
