Phase 2A South and 2C occur along existing levees located south of 5th St. Bridge & west of J St., 3rd St., and F St. Phase 2A South: A soil cement bentonite (SCB) wall will be constructed on the waterside toe of the levee using the Deep Mix Method. Impervious fill will replace the exterior portion of the excavated material (approx. 27,400 sq. yds.) There will be up to 1.3 acres of in-kind material placed on the slope north and south of the 5th St. Bridge. Phase 2C: A SCB wall using the method describe in Phase 2A South, will be constructed through the center of the levee. There will be up to 2 acres of in-kind material placed on the slope south-west of the 5th St. Bridge.
