Document Description
The Applicant intends to alter the streambed by clearing woody vegetation, trash, and debris within the North Fork Arroyo Conejo flood channel through the Hill Canyon Wastewater Treatment Plant (HCTP). Channel vegetation clearing would be conducted after the bird nesting season and consist of cutting woody vegetation below the 25-year flood limits with a crew of approximately 6 to 8 personnel, for approximately 3 weeks, using hand tools, including chain saws, weed whackers, and pruners. Roots would be left intact and stems cut just above the ground surface to allow regeneration. Other maintenance activities include: 1) the minor repair, replacement and maintenance of the existing riprap banks, 2) clearing debris from the bridge and maintaining the apron, 3) use of herbicides to control non-native vegetation, 4) maintenance of outlets, inlets and other structures that may experience vegetation encroachment or sediment accumulation, and 5) removal of any dead or fallen trees and vegetation that interferes with the proper function of facility structures.
