The San Benito County Bikeway and Pedestrian Master Plan is part of San Benito's vision for a more livable and healthy region. The Plan is designed to improve accessibility and mobility throughout the County for bicyclists and pedestrians. By improving transportation for bicyclists and pedestrians, the Council of Governments hope to enhance the quality of neighborhoods and commercial districts, better the health of its residents, reduce automobile use and thereby improve air quality, and provide access for people who do not use automobiles for transportation.
