AVEK proposes to use their existing groundwater production wells and distribution system to extract and deliver up to 15,000 acre-feet per year of groundwater to the AVEK service area during emergency conditions. The groundwater would be extracted from areas within the AVEK service area that have historically been recharged by SWP return flows or are currently pumped for irrigated agriculture. Extraction would only occur during AVEK Board-declared emergency conditions.
