Document Description
The project proposes to restore the hydrology of the Round Valley meadow by restoring the natural drainage pattern of a severely-eroded and down-cut unnamed stream draining the meadow. Approx. 700-800 cubic yards of soil from adjacent upland sites will be excavated to fill the eroded channel using small backhoe-loaders and CCC work crews with hand tools. The project requires an exception to the general prohibition against mechanized equipment in State Wilderness. The backhoe-loaders, and crews' tools and other equipment, will be dropped into a small clearing by helicopter. All disturbed work areas will be contoured and revegetated to restore natural appearance.
