Addendum to the Adopted MND for the Biggs Wastewater Improvement Project

Note: Addendum The proposed Addendum to the Biggs Wastewater Improvement Project includes the same objective of bringing the existing wastewater plant into regulatory compliance, and most of the components of the originally proposed project, with the exception of the location of the proposed headworks. The WWTP currently does not have a mechanical headworks facility. The original project proposes installation of mechanical headworks at the existing WWTP site. The headworks consist of a mechanical screen designed to remove debris prior to the extended aeration device secondary treatment. The Addendum to the corner of the City Corporation Yard. The Corporation Yard is a disturbed site located 0.3 mile directly east of the WWTP and connected by an existing gravel road. Construction would occur on two adjacent parallel concrete channels at the Corporation Yard, one of which will include a mechanical screen, while the other channel will include a manual bar screen so that wastewater can be diverted around the mechanical screen during maintenance of high flow events. After screening, the wastewater will be directed into a flume structure equipped with a sensor to measure influent flows. The screened wastewater will then be pumped 0.3 miles west through an existing west through an existing pipe under the gravel road to the WWTP and inevitably to the existing facultative pond No. 1 in the WWTP. The pump station improvements at the Corporation Yard are the same analyzed in the Biggs Wastewater Improvement Project IS/MND (2009).
