Document Description
The City of Elk Grove is proposing to build a solid waste transfer station facility within the southern portion of the City. The Elk Grove Transfer Station Project would be located on approximately 20 acres of land designed to accept, process, load and ship (via truck) municipal solid waste, green waste, recyclable/reusable materials, household hazardous waste and special wastes. The site and the facility will be owned and managed by the City and operated under contract with a private company or companies. Rail hauling waste is not being considered at this time but could become a viable option at some point in the future.
