Document Description
To maximize land use at the airport, the SBIAA has determined that use of the Former Air Force Base landfill as a parking area would be more effective use of the site. To accomplish this, SBIAA has prepared an Addendum to the Closure Plant/Post Closure and Maintenance Plan for the landfill to allow end use of the site as a parking facility. The Addendum has been reviewed and approved by state and federal agencies with jusridiction over the site closure. This project proposes an alternantive final cover that will alow use of the site as a parking area. The existing vegetationwill be removed and the upper soil layers affected will be sacrificed and re-compacted to meet parking area standards. About 4 inches of asphaltic concrete will be placed over the compacted subgrade in accordance with applicable standards for use as a parking facility and will be adequate to meet established requirements for final landfill cover.
