Document Description
The Project includes the development of an aggregate mine with a total Project area of 23.2 acres. Of this area 9.7 acres are already heavily disturbed by past excavation activities. The ITP, as originally authorized, allows takes of the California Endangered Species Act designated State Threatened San Joaquin kit fox (Vulpes macrotis mutica) and San Joaquin antelope squirrel (Ammospermophilus nelsoni) and the State Endangered giant kangaroo rat (Dipodomys ingens). Minor Amendment No. 1 reduced the estimated land acquisition cost HM Lands and the required performance security. Minor Amendment No. 2 revised the Limits of Work when construction activities would occur. Minor Amendment No. 3 extends the deadline for the permanent protection of the Project Habitat Management Lands from December 11, 2013 to December 11, 2014. CDFW issued the ITP and ITP Amendments 1,2, and 3 (collectively, the ITP, as amended) as a responsible agency under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), relying on an Environmental Impact Report (EIR) prepared and certified for the Project by the lead agency, County of San Luis Obispo.
