Document Description
The applicant proposes an amendment to the La Mesa General Plan to change the land use designation of approximately 2 acres of property located north of El Cajon Boulevard on the east side of Thorne Drive from :Mixed Density Residential" (7-23 dwelling units per acre) to "Mixed Use Urban" (24-40 dwelling units per acre) land use. The applicant also proposes a corresponding Zone Reclassification to rezone the subject property from the R3 (Multiple Unit Residential) zone to the R3-MU (Multiple Unit Residential/Mixed Use Overlay) zone. The current R3 zoning allows 18-23 dwelling units per acre. Applying the Mixed Use Overlay zone to subject property would increase allowable density to 40 dwelling units per acre City of La Mesa Case File Numbers GPA-08-01 and Z-08-01.
