The project is the 2009 update of the Regional Transportation Plan (RTP) for Shasta County. The RTP contains a discussion of regional transportation issues, challenges, and solutions over a 20 year timeframe. It includes goals, objectives, and policies for each transportion mode, as well as actions to be taken to implement them. The RTP includes estimates of funding expected to be available. It contains lists of future needs, including road expansion and improvements; new lanes, roads, and signals; bridge rehabilitation and replacement; maintenance of existing roads; airport maintenance and improvements; and an ongoing evaluation of public transit needs.
