The project is a regional approach to conserving species and providing a streamlined environmental permitting process for new urban development and associated infrastructure projects within southern Sacramento County pursuant to the SSHCP and associated Aquatic Resources Program (ARP). The SSHCP was developed by the Plan Partners; County of Sacramento; City of Galt; City of Rancho Cordova; Sacramento County Water Agency; and the Southeast Connector Joint Powers Authority. The ARP is a regional conservation approach for aquatic resources located within the SSHCP Plan Area. The SSHCP covers 28 native species - 11 of which are federally or state listed as threatened or endangered. THE SSHCP establishes a 36, 281-acre interconnected preserve system.
