Document Description
The Permittee proposes restoring steelhead passage to the perennial headwaters of Gobernador Creek, a major tributary to Carpinteria Creek. An existing Arizona crossing that results in a vertical jump height of nearly 10 feet will be removed and replaced with a span bridge. The project components include 1) removal of the concrete crossing, 2) excavating and building up a new grade for a approach, 3) instillation of a new bridge, 4) reconstruction of a channel bed and grade using a series of step pools, 5) biotechnical slope protection of newly graded slopes, 6) exotic plant removal and planting of native species. Seven native trees will be removed, and replaced.
