Document Description
The project is the certification of the Lake Tahoe Water Quality Management Plant, pursuant to section 208 of the Clean Water Act (208 Plan). The 208 Plan is a framework that refers to, and describes, components of the water quality management system in the Lake Tahoe region., It was prepared by Tahoe Regional Planning Agency (TRPA), a bi-state regional planning and regulatory agency responsible for water quality management and land-use planning in the Lake Tahoe region, and must be certified by the states of Nevada and California, and approved by the U.S. EPA. To meet CEQA requirements, the Water Board relied on an EIS prepared by the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency (TRPA) for the Tahoe Regional Plan Update, pursuant to Public Resources Code section 21083.5 and section 15225 of the CEQA Guidelines.
