Document Description
The project is the 2015 update of the City of Modesto Housing Element, Chapter IV of the General Plan. The Housing Element comprises the set of existing opportunities for residential development and policies to implement new residential development and to support the continued viability of existing residential development in Modesto. The Housing Element is not a plan for new development that has not been anticipated in the General Plan and various specific plans. The Regional Housing Needs Allocation for this update is 6,747 units for all income levels combined, including 386 dwelling units taht were not accommodated in the 2009 - 2014 cycle. Demographic information has been updated, primarily from the 2010 Census and related intermediate survey products, as well as the 2015 Point in Time Survey. The sites inventory has been updated to reflect activity that has occurred since the 2009 Housing Element was initiated.
