Document Description
The Sacramento Area Flood Control Agency (SAFCA) is proposing to implement the Natomas Levee Improvement Program (NLIP) Landside Improvements Project, which consists of installing improvements to the levee system in the Natomas Basin and making other related landscape modifications and drainage and infrastructure improvements. The NLIP would be implemented over a 3-year period extending from 2008 through 2010. The EIR analysis addresses the potential environmental impacts associated with the 2008 activities on a project-specific basis, thereby providing the final CEQA-mandated environmental review before project implementation. The EIR analysis also addresses the potential environmental impacts associated with the overall project on a programmatic basis; therefore, the EIR constitutes a program EIR for all activities leading to the flood control system improvements that would occur during the 2008 through 2010 construction period. The flood control improvement activities planned to take place in 2009 and 2010 would be subject to additional project-specific CEQA analysis in the future, prior to proceeding with project implementation.
