Document Description
The Sonoma County Department of Transportation and Public Works proposes to remove approximately 350 blue gum eucalyptus trees on both sides of Lakeville Road, between State Hwy 116 to the north and Old Lakeville Road No. 3 to the south. Tree debris, trunks, and limbs will be removed and disposed of as part of the proposed project. The resulting tree stumps will be removed to ground level to eliminate possible obstructions to vehicles. The purpose of the project is to improve safety for the motoring public by removing existing eucalyptus trees that have reached the end of their normal life span and have dropped and likely will continue to drop limbs onto Lakeville Road. Temporary closure and/or traffic control measure(s) of the vehicular travel lane(s) for Lakeville Road may be required throughout the project, which is expected to take approximately 3-6 months. Access permission may need to be obtained from adjacent private properties.
