Document Description
The primary purpose of the Project is the installation of treatment process improvements at the District's existing water treatment plant. The construction of a 50 ft portion of the pipeline is expected to impact the bed, bank, channel, and riparian zone of the Tule River. The utility district will utilize a subterranean collector pipe installed underneath the riverbed to collect and divert water, in lieu of an above-ground structure that would utilize screens. A trench 4 ft deep by 3 ft wide will be dug to accommodate the installation of the pipeline. Excavated materials (~8 cy) plus additional construction materials will be used to recontour the bank. Excavation will remove ~50 ft (1,000 sf) of grasses, annual and perennial herbaceous plants and small shrubs within the riparian zone.
