Document Description
Nevada LAFCo is updating the Sphere of Influence of the Nevada Irrigation District, in order to bring the sphere plan into conformance with California law and LAFCo policy requirements. The proposed update does not expand the sphere adopted for the District by LAFCo in 1983, and in fact reduces it in several areas. The Nevada Irrigation District provides both raw and treated water to an area of approximately 287,000 acres located in western Nevada County, portions of western Placer County and a small area in Yuba County. In connection with its water resources, the District also operates several recreational sites and hydroelectric facilities.
