The City of Hayward and Hayward Unified School District propose to build a new elementary school and joint use park on a 14.25-acre mixed-use site located at the southwest corner of Burbank and C Streets in Hayward, California. Based on data collected from the site during the Preliminary Environmental Assessment (PEA) and the Supplemental Site Investigation (SSI), a Draft Removal Action Workplan (RAW) was prepared that identifies options to reduce or eliminate future exposure to polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH), polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB), chlorinated pesticides, lead, and arsenic detected in soils within the site.
