The project is a 5-year program to enhance riparian habitat in San Felipe Creek, just below "Scissors Crossing," using traditional Native American selective pruning techniques for willows (Salix spp.), and removal of non-native invasive plants. A total of 16 one-hectare plots will be established to study the effects of willow pruning, with eleven plots being used as pruned plots and 5 used as un-pruned control plots.
