Document Description
A draft facilities program for the SRJC's replacement Student Services Center was produced by BSA Architects in September 2005. The program indicates a building of approximately 70,000 square feet, including a total of three stories. The new building will be conducted at the site of the existing Doyle Student Center, which will be demolished to make way for the new structure. The footprint of the new building will likely shift slightly to the east. Exterior features will complement existing adjacent buildings (new library and Pioneer Hall). Preliminary footprints contained in the program are sited to retain the significant oak trees to the north of the existing student center. The small parking lot (33 spaces) to the east of the existing Student Center will be demolished to accommodate the new Student Services Center. Parking will be offset by the new parking garage on Mendocino Avenue, currently under construction.
