Notice of Exemption

Exempt Status
Categorical Exemption
Type, Section or Code
Section 15330
Reasons for Exemption
The project will not have a significant effect on the environment because: 1. The nearest offsite residential receptor to the work area is more than 400 feet from the excavation area. This will provide adequate distance from an exposure to noise or potential chemical exposure from the excavation activity. The site is fenced with entrance through a gate in the southern corner of the property. 2. The RAW includes an Excavation Plan, Engineering Evaluation/Cost Analysis, Health and Safety Plan, Transportation Plan, and Dust Control Plan. Fieldwork will be conducted utilizing these engineering, administrative, and work practice controls. The project will not have a significant effect on the environment because of the relatively small volume, short project duration, and the controlled manner in which contaminated debris material will be excavated, loaded onto trucks and taken off-site for disposal/treatment.
