Document Description
The proposed project is a joint $80 million project to provide reliable delivery of water that has been treated at the Mills Water Treatment Plant to the service territory of both Western Municipal Water District and Eastern Municipal Water District (EMWD). To implement the proposed project, Western Municipal Water District will work with the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California (MWD) and EMWD. The proposed project would consist of: (1) construction, operation and maintenance of an approximately 6 mile long treated water pipeline and appurtenances from the Mills Water Treatment Plant in Riverside to a point approximately six miles southeast of the Mills Water Treatment Plant near the southern edge of the March Air Reserve Base; (2) construction, operation and maintenance of four service connections from the pipeline; and (3) construction, operation and maintenance of four pump stations to convey water from the service connections to the water distribution systems of Western Municipal Water District and EMWD. Flow in the pipeline would be controlled remotely.
