Document Description
The LADWP proposes to construct a new Lower Ranch River Supply Conduit pipeline to replace teh Lower Reach of the existing RSC pipeline in a new alignment. The existing RSC, a potable water pipeline, has provided over 50 years of continuous service to the City of Los Angeles, but its reliability and capacity are near its design life limits. The proposed new Lower Reach RSC will provide for a more reliable supply of water to the central area of Los Angeles; provide for a larger flow capacity to adequately meet the current requirements and future needs of the City of Los Angeles; provide for higher water pressure to meet CA Dept. of Health Services Drinking Water Requirements; and compensate for loss of water storage within LADWP water distribution system. The proposed project would involve the construction of approximately 37,400 linear feet (about 7.1 miles including two branch lines).
