Document Description
The proposed project, on a site of 3.8 acres, is an adaptive reuse of the Stuart Pharmaceutical Office Building and plant designed in 1958 by Edward/Durrell Stone, with new infill residential construction primarily to the south and east of the existing building. Portions of this infill residential construction primarily to the south and east of the existing building. Portions of this building and its grounds were placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1994. The original complex was centered within a large development of office, manufacturing and industrial buildings. The site of the proposed project is approximately 280 feet long on the north boundary (measured in an east to west along Gold Line Drive) and 435 feet deep (measured in a north to south direction from Foothill Boulevard toward the freeway from property line to property line). The property is in a T-shape configuration, which excludes the northeast and southwest portions of the block. The project is adjacent to the East Pasadena Gold Line Station and the Los Angeles to Pasadena Metro Blue Line Construction Authority constructed a 4-story, 960 space parking garage and bus terminal on the southern portion of the original property adjacent to the 210 (foothill) Freeway. Gold Line Drive (with passenger drop-off) extends between the parking garage and the south-facing wall of the residential complex.
