Document Description
The Sonoma Co. Transportation Auth. (SCTA), in cooperation with Caltrans proposes to widen HWY 101 form four lanes to six lanes by adding one high occupancy vehicle (HOV) lane in each direction from N. of Pepper Rd. post mi. (PM) 8.9 in Petaluma to Rohnert Park Expressway PM 13.9 in Rohnert Park. The purpose of the project is to reduce congestion, improve traffic operations, encourage use of HOVs, and accommodate anticipated travel demand in the future.
The California Fish and Game is issuing this Streambed Alteration Agreement for the widening of the stream crossing at Laguna de Santa Rosa and Copeland Creeks to accommodate the HOV lanes. Both streambeds are lined with concrete for flood control purposes. Vegetation at both creeks is dominated by ruderal species. All work within the stream zone will be conducted between June 15 and October 15.
