Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Game is executing a Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code for the Westside Parkway Phase 4 Bridge Geological Investigation portion of the Westside Parkway Project. The project will drill up to twenty (20) small-diameter (4-inch ID) geotechnical soil borings using either a rubber-tired or track mounted all-terrain drill rig with hollow-stem and/or mud-rotary drills as the subsurface conditions dictate. Borings are expected to be drilled to a depth of approximately 70 to 80 feet below the existing grade into the alluvium to examine and sample the prevailing soil conditions. Each boring hole will be backfilled with a 50/50 mixture of the original soil/drilling fluid (if used) and neat cement grout in accordance with Kern County Health Department permit requirements. Any drilling fluid which is left after the grouting operations will be drummed and disposed of at a licensed hazardous waste facility. Temporary impacts are expected to be not more than 0.00004 acres of land.
