Document Description
The proposed alternative for remediation of the Pesticide Mixing Area (PMA) is the excavation and offsite disposal of approximately 250 cubic yards of pesticide contaminated soil. The area around the PMA will be temporarily fenced to secure the construction zone and soil storage area. Standard engineering/construction practices, such as the use of water spray, will be used to control potential dust emissions during excavation activities. Both perimeter air monitoring for public safety, and personal air monitoring for worker safety will be conducted. Excavated soils will be placed into a designated, plastic lined, soil storage area. Soils will be covered with plastic, and temporarily stockpiled while the results of waste characterization tests are pending.
