Document Description
Issuance of a Streambed Alteration Agreement Number R3-2002-0788 pursuant to Fish and Game Code Section 1601 for the following project. This is an after the fact Agreement application. The work was completed on the south side of the Russian River, at PM 19.83 along the State Route 1 in Sonoma County. In December of 2001 high water levels and heavy rains contributed to a slip-out of soil at the south abutment of the Russian RiverBridge on Route 1. To protect against further failure and a possibly emergency situation the following activities were completed. A metal beam guardrail was removed and replaced approximately 0.3 meters from the from the top of bank and rock slope protection (RSP). Approximately 75m cubed of slip-out material from the failed slope was removed and 260m squared and RSP fabric placed on the cavity. The excavated area was back-filled with approximately 145m cubed of light RSP and 350m cubed of heavier RSP. All work was completed above the ordinary high water mark.
