Document Description
The proposed Management Plan will include access improvements for non-auto access to the park sites, and possibly a reservation system to access some or all of the affected parkland areas. The primary purpose of the plan will be to: reduce congestion on local roadways for residents and visitors, enhance the visitor experience including access to the parks, protect ecoogical resources, and protect park resources. The access improvements being considered include: A visitor intercept facility, where visitors will be able to transfer from auto or other modal choices to a parklands access facility. The intercept facility is to include restrooms, a sheltered waiting area, and physical staff presence. A park and ride facility specifically for parklands access. The park and ride facility will be sized based on projected gowth in the Bay Area and the number of people that are projected to drive to the intercept facility site. The parklands access facility may include a shuttle bus, a funicular lift type facility, and/or bicycles.
