Document Description
The Department of General Services proposes to retrofit this state facility in order to conserve energy and reduce expenses. The Civic Center complex consists of two attached building, 350 McAllister Street is a 6-story granite building completely remodeled and 445 Golden Gate Avenue is a new 19-story high-rise glass and steel building. The two buildings have totally different HVAC systems linked by a common condenser water loop with open cooling towers on the roof of the 455 building and a central heating system located in the basement of the 350 building. This project will include the following: install variable speed drives on several existing motors, install variable speed drive on cooling tower, install energy management system and lighting retrofit.
