Document Description
In order to provide an additional entrance to Central Valley High, the District would purchase the project site, a 1.87 acre parcel of land between the high school site and Central Avenue. Central Valley High school was approved in 2000, following an extensive site selection process and an Environmental Impact Report, which was certified in 1998. The school has been designed, but has not yet been constructed. The proposed project would include three components: 1) A Traffic signal would be added on Central Avenue at the entrance to the high school. 2) A four-lane access road would be built on the proposed parcel, which would connect Central Avenue to the main parking lot of the high school. The accessway would also include about 110 angel parking spaces, about half on at the edge and the remainder on the south side. 3) The proposed accessway would require a reconfiguration of onsite parking to some extent to improve access, safety and functionality. However, the total number of onsite spaces anticipated pursuant to the 1998 FEIR would not change.
