The Department of Recreation and Parks, through the use of Proposition K funds, is proposing to acquire three privately-owned parcels adjoining Blythe Street Park, totaling approximately 58,500 square feet and currently occupied by 42 multiple-family dwellings, for the purpose of expanding the park and providing greater neighborhood recreational opportunities. Proposed development features for the project site include a 10,000-12,000 square foot recreation center, a children's play area, on-site parking, an outdoor game court, security lighting, fencing, and landscaping and irrigation improvements.
