Document Description
The North Lamont Channel Project is composed of three facilities: (1) A 3.65-acre flood water retention basin located along the west side of the Eastside Canal immediately south of the midsection line of Section 30, T30S, R29E; (2) A 3700-foot section of 48" cast-in-place concrete pipeline, or reinforced concrete pipe, running westerly from the storm water retention basin (Facility 1), roughly parallel to the midsection line of Section 30, T30S, R29E to State Highway 184 (Weedpatch Highway); and (3) A 2600-foot section of open channel running westerly along the north side and parallel to the midsection line of Section 25, T30S, R28E, from Weedpatch Highway to the eastern edge of the right-of-way for the Union Pacific Railroad. Implementation of the request will facilitate the receipt and discharge a predefined amount of floodwater, similar to that which currently occurs, but convey it in a manner which minimizes the impacts of that floodwater on existing development. As proposed, the flood control facilities would convey existing flow, which pass via a 36" culvert under the Eastside Canal from the Eastside Canal to a location immediately downstream of Tract 3555, commonly referred to as the "Reynolds Tract".
