Document Description
The proposed project is an electrical power facility consisting of one 45-megawatt combustion turbine generator; associated equipment, including an 80-foot high exhaust stack; a combustion turbine inlet air structure; water tanks; and a chiller system with an overhead cooling tower. This type of facility is known as a "peaker plant" and serves as an auxillary power plant that would be in operation when demand peaks on the regional power grid. It would be located at a site previously owned by Uni-Kool Partners, Inc. and formerly used for ice production. The project site consists of three adjacent parcels totaling 11.82 acres and is adjacent to, and north of, the Union Pacific railroad at the intersection of Allison Road and Railroad Avenue, in the unicorporated community of Pajaro.
