Document Description
The project involves replacement of an existing private irrigation diversion structure (Clough Dam) on Mill Creek in eastern Tehama County with an inverted siphon at the same location for the purpose and diversion capacity. The project purpose is to permanently remove a historic fish passage barrier whil maintaining existing water rights, capacity and associated land uses to water users on the sourth side of Mill Creek. The project involves removal of the remains of a diversion structure including portions of an associated fish ladder and replacement with a cross channel inverted siphon. The siphon will be connected to the existing screened diversion ditch on the north side of the channel using a prefabricated junction box and the existing irrigation headworks structure on the south side of the channel. The siphon length is approximately 300-feet and will be installed 50-feet below the stream channel elevation using a large excavation. Other project associated activities include construction/installation of a water measurement Parshall flume in the existing screened diversion ditch on the north side of the channel and installation/replacement of two irrigation ditch bridges for site access.
