Document Description
On Febuary 11, 2002, Cambria Community Services District (CCSD) filed a petition requesting a Temporary Urgency Change (TUC) to Permit 20387. This is a renewal of TCU Order 2001-21-DWR. The petition request that CCSD be allowed to add an additional point of diversion (offset well) on Santa Rosa Creek.
As a result of an methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE) leak from underground tanks in the vicinity of CCSD's existing municipal wells, CCSD has recently suspended use of wells SR1 and SR3 in order to prevent contamination of their municipal water supply. The proposed well will allow CCSD to continue to obtain water from the Santa Rosa Creek underflow that would have been diverted from wells SR1 and SR3. The proposed well will be relied upon until such time as the effects of the MTBE spill can be remediated.
