Document Description
The project involves installation of an infiltration gallery and discharge structure within Peters Canyon Wash for Irvine Ranch Water District's Cienega Selenium Treatment Facility. The influent structure will be installed approximately 60-feet upstream of an existing check dam, and is composed of twelve, slotted, 12-inch stainless steel pipes, installed perpendicular to the invert of Peters Canyon Wash. Each pipe will be approximately 110-feet long, and the twelve pipes will be placed 20-feet apart. The pipes will be buried in a 3-foot filter bed and covered by 1/4 ton of rip rap. The twelve infiltration pipes will gravity feed into four manholes, which will gravity feed into one 24-inch PVC header pipe. The PVC header pipe will discharge into a pump station wet well which will pump the water to the treatment system for selenium removal.
