Document Type
EIR - Draft EIR

Present Land Use
Existing development in the Amendment Area is predominately industrial and includes an abandoned diatomaceous earth processing plant and a truck/machinery storage area. There is also vacant land and an abandoned Caltrans Right-of-Way. Current zoning and general plan designations include residential and industrial uses.
Document Description
The proposed action involves the addition of approximately 80 acres to the 1,000-acre Old Town Lompoc Redevelopment Project, which was originally adopted in 1984 and expanded in 1998. The Amendment Area is located east of the juncture of State Highway 1 with State Highway 246/Ocean Avenue. Although no development or construction is proposed at this time, implementation of the Plan Amendment is expected to facilitate reinvestment in properties in the Amendment Area, to address various environmental issues, and to eliminate conditions of physical and economic blight that hinder the improvement of the Amendment Area.
