Document Description
The project consists of reconstructing the existing I-880/Coleman Avenue Interchange in San Jose for the purpose of improving traffic operations and safety. The existing interchange, which is located adjacent to the Norman Y. Mineta San Jose International Airport, does not meet current design standards, nor does it adequately accommodate traffic demand. The project will reconstruct the entire interchange, including replacing the existing Coleman Avenue Bridge over I-880 and modifying all of the existing on-ramps and off-ramps. In order to improve traffic operations, the project also includes modification to Coleman Avenue, Airport Boulevard, and Newhall Street in the proximity of the interchange.
