Document Description
The project consists of the stabilizing of approximately 100 feet of bank on Langely Creek, a seasonal drainage, between Messick and Tustin Roads, City of Prunedale, in Monterey County at PM 96.69. The need for the project is due to ongoing erosion that is threatening to undercut Highway 101 along the right-hand northbound lane. The repair will consist of installing rock-filled gabion baskets for a length of approximately 28 meters. There will be two base layers of baskets, approximately 3 meters wide, stepping up from the base to the roadway with the upper layers approximately 2 meters wide. At the downstream end of the proposed gabion wall an existing culvert will have approximately 13.5 cubic meters of rock placed at its outfall to dissipate energy and reduce erosion. Issuance of a Streambed Alteration Agreement Number 2001-0844 pursuant to Fish and Game Code Section 1601.
