Present Land Use
The program EIR evaluates sites throughout the Bay Area. Existing land uses include existing ferry terminals, maritime, industries, commercial, open spaces and parklands.
Document Description
The Implementation and Operations Plan (IOP) addressed in the final EIR provides a program for providing new and expanded ferry transit service on the San Francisco Bay, in conjunction with associated land-side transit service, at locations throughout the Bay Area. The IOP would be implemented in phases over an approximately 10-year time period. The project would utilize ferry vessels that exceed EPA Tier II air quality standards by 85 percent. Total annual ridership under the IOP is estimated at over 9.6 million passengers. The final EIR concluded the project may result in potentially significant impacts involving navigation, biological resources, air quality, aesthetics, cultural resources, noise, transportation and energy.
