In Glenn County on SR 162, Caltrans proposes to prevent erosion along the westerly riverbank of the Sacramento River north and south of the Butte City Bridge by placing/installing 5 rock groins (~150 feet apart), extending 950 feet upstream of the bridge and Rock Slope Protection downstream of the bridge, which intends to prevent erosion, thus stabilizing and maintaining the bridge's integrity.
