The San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools (SBCSS) proposes to undertake the acquisition of approximately 6.07 acres of predominantly undeveloped property located on the northwest corner of the intersection of Etiwanda Avenue and Summit Avenue, for the purpose of constructing the proposed Etiwanda Early Education Center, a special education preschool (Project). The project is proposed to be twelve (12) classrooms, totaling approximately 21,000 square feet. The project contemplates construction of classroom facilities organized in single-story buildings with covered walkways and fencing. Facilities to be constructed include classrooms for up to 156 preschool students ages three months through pre-kindergarten; parking facilities for visitors and staff; parent loading/drop-off area and turf playfields. Lighting includes minimal low level security lighting, signage lighting, and illumination of the surface parking lot and associated pedestrian areas as necessary for safety.
