The project site is designated Flood Control/Construction Aggregates in the General Plan. The zoning of the property is O (Open Land) District. The present land use of the property consists of approximately 118.6 acres which have been actively mined to a depth of around fifty (50) feet. The quarry site has an approved Mine and Reclamation Plan and is approved to mine to a depth of 85 feet. In addition, the quarry is connected with an internal haul road for large off-road trucks used to deliver aggregate material to the East Basin Processing Plant located approximately 2.7 miles to the west of the project site.
Document Description
The project is for a revision to an approved Conditional Use Permit for a Mine and Reclamation Plan to increase the maximum depth of the pit from 85 feet to 120 feet, and modify the slope design from 2.0(H) to 1.0(V) to 1.5(H) to 1.0(V) on approximately 118.6 acres, defined as the Old Webster Quarry, located approximately 0.5 miles east of Orange Street and within the Upper Santa Ana River Wash in the O (Open Land) District. The Revised Mine and Reclamation Plan is submitted in accordance with the State Surface Mining and Reclamation Act (SMARA) and in accordance with Chapter 18.266 of the Redlands Municipal Code. This request is submitted by Robertson's Ready Mix.
